Sky-born scholars who transformed the loss of flight into a culture of knowledge.
The Corvec were once masters of sustained flight, but a slow and mysterious degradation has reduced them to short, desperate hops - and so the "Winged Past" became the Winded Feathers. They have rebuilt their whole civilization around the loss, becoming Scalea's foremost weather-readers, sensing the faintest shift in air pressure through a feathered organ in the throat. To call one a chicken is the gravest of insults.
